Soccer
Ever wanted to know how to play Soccer? On this website you will
learn about the different positions and penalties you need to use on the field.
Want to know exaclty what clothes to wear?
Well this is the place where you find it all out.
Midfield
This Position played in Soccer is not that hard, it does involves running
and down almost the entire field. Your goal is to get the the ball on the
other side and keep it there. You always have to pass to your teammates
so everyone gets to play. Passing the ball to other people is easier than
going around the other team members with the ball. Sometimes there will be
noone to pass the ball to so you will have to try to dribble (run with the
ball)the ball around the other team and shoot into the goal.
Defense
When you are playing Defense you have to defend the goal from theother team when they have
the ball. You can only stay on your team's side.when you are a defender. When the ball is on the
other side, its a good idea to come up to the middle line in the game so you are closer. If the
other defenders are all clumped up, tell them to spread out so that it is harder for the other team
to score on you. Don't always chase after the ball, you'll waste all your energy, its better just to
wait until the ball comes to you.
Offense
Offense to some people is the easiest position in the whole game. You have to stay on the other team's side, and when the ball comes to you, you have to try to make a goal because you are the closest one to the goal.
Goalie
Goalie is probably of the hardest Position in soccer because only you can
defend the goal from the opposite team. The goalie is supposed to be in front of the goal and always behind the two boxes in front of him. It might be a small place to be in but that's the right amount of space to run out and block the ball. Goalies are allowed to pick up the ball when they run up to it, but right after that they have to run up to the last line and punt it as hard as he or she can.
Penalties and Outs
When the refferee blows his whistle that means that a penalty or an out has been
made. When a player has touched the balled with his or her hand, that is called a handball.
When a handball has been made, the refferee will put the ball in the exact spot of where the penalty
was called and will allow the opposite team to kick it towards their goal.Another penalty that can
be made is when you are offsides. If your suppose to be on one part of the field and your on the
other then the refferee will call offsides. The refferee will then blow the whistle and will
let the opposite team kick the ball towards thier goal. An out is when one team kicks the ball
out of bounds and then one player from the other team will take the ball and throw it back in.
When you are throwing the ball back in you have to keep your feet on the ground, stay behind
the line, and throw the ball over your head. If you forget any of these three things, the refferee
will blow his or whistle and the other team will throw it in instead. When you can't do any of these
three things, its hard to throw it far so you look for the closest teammates to throw it to. When
the other team is throwing the ball in get in front of one of the other players so you can get it instead.
When the ball is kicked out your goal line (the line that runs along the back of the goal box) by the opposite
team, that is called a goal kick. The goalie will put the ball on the corner of the first box in front of him
and give it a great big kick. If the ball is kicked out by your team, that is called a corner kick. The other
team will go to a corner and kick from there.
Clothes
When your on the field, you are going to need certain kinds of clothes. Kleets are the shoes that soccer players
wear, they have little stumps on the bottom of them so you can have a good grip on the grass. The jersey may be
handed to you by your coach
